Despite it being the middle of the night (or more accurately, very early in the morning) the lady stationed at the front desk was wonderful and checked us into our room - the last one available - efficiently with a smile.
The room itself, a Deluxe Double with [a] window was a cute and cozy 14 m² (151 ft²). In line with the rest of the hotel, the room was chic, modern and very comfortable. The bathroom was great considering how small it had to be! The shower included a rain shower and was sectioned off from the sink and toilet with a glass wall. We had the BEST night's sleep on the queen bed, which was really the most important thing as we needed all the energy we could get to pack everything we wanted to do into the total 5 days we had in Singapore.
One thing we thought was great was that the hotel's mini bar was complementary and replenished daily - which meant we had an assortment of snacks and drinks to come home to or take out with us everyday. With how expensive Singapore is on average, this was a huge plus! We didn't need it, but they also offered a 'Handy' Smartphone on request. This is an iPhone you're free to take around the city for the duration of your stay that you can use or if you prefer, use to hotspot your devices. We used one in Macau and it came in super handy - pun intended!
'Anniversary Trip 2018, Day 1: A Brief Glimpse of Singapore'
We highly recommend staying at Hotel NuVe Urbane (or any of their sister hotels for that matter) if you're travelling to Singapore. We opted for a smaller room because James and I aren't too fussed about having loads of space, but they do have bigger rooms available! If you're travelling as a couple or are young travellers, this is a great place to stay. The rate was very reasonable -especially for Singapore; we paid just under SGD$500 (USD$370) in total for 5 nights in "the world's most expensive city to live in for the fifth year running". It's close to the airport, within walking distance to Little India and only a few MRT stops away from major attractions ie. Bugis, Esplanade/Bayfront (Marina Bay Sands & Gardens by the Bay), Chinatown, Clarke Quay, etc but situated in a quiet and peaceful part of town.
